Never be afraid to ask questions. Guidepoint is the type of company that can be intimidating walking into, but everyone is there to help both you and the company flourish. I asked every question I had and got a response without fail every time. There are no stupid questions.

Associate Intern

June - August 2019 • San Francisco, CA

What I liked

I liked the level of responsibility that we had as interns - we did the same work as the regular, full-time associates and therefore were treated the same.

What I wish was different

I wish that it had been a bit more interesting and engaging - at times, interns had to do call-downs or just had downtime because incoming projects were slow, so I wish there was an ongoing project to do inbetween or something to do when it got slow.

Advice

I enjoyed the internship, however, the work was quite redundant and it often was busy work without much thought to it.

What I liked

Real world experience speaking with C-level executives of private equity firms, hedge funds and Fortune 500 companies.

What I wish was different

I decided that I would be more interested in corporate sales than private equity as I am driven by human interaction.

Advice

Whatever internship or experience you have, whether it’s the best fit for you or not, give it your 100% because you never know if it will be the greatest opportunity, network, or lesson you could ever receive.

What I wish was different

I wish we had more diversity with the work we were doing.

Advice
