Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory

Bioinformatics Intern

June - August 2022 • Woodbury, NY

What I liked

The other staff were very nice and extremely welcoming. I also really enjoyed the work that I did there, it was interesting and engaging.

What I wish was different

I personally wished there had been a wet lab opportunity, but this was an exclusively dry lab so it makes sense for this not to have been an option.

What I liked

I got enough supervision to get feedback, but not micromanaged. It allowed me to do my job in my own way while achieving the desired results for my workplace. Very friendly co-workers and a great work environment.

What I wish was different

Advice

Development software such as RE is useful for future careers in non-profit sector. If you enjoy science or have a science background, this is a very enjoyable place to work even if your work is not directly science realted
