Outreach Intern

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and passionate Outreach Intern to join our team and contribute to our mission of advocacy, inclusion, and empowerment. As an Outreach Intern, you will play a crucial role in expanding our reach and impact by connecting with diverse communities, building relationships, and promoting awareness of our programs and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Community Engagement: Actively engage with community members, local organizations, and stakeholders to promote awareness of The Arc of the Capital Area's mission and services.

Event Coordination: Assist in the planning and execution of outreach events, workshops, and community gatherings to foster connections and share information about our programs.

Digital Outreach: Manage and create engaging content for social media platforms, newsletters, and other digital channels to effectively communicate our mission and initiatives.

Partnership Development: Identify and cultivate partnerships with local businesses, schools, and community organizations to strengthen our network and broaden our impact.

Public Speaking: Represent The Arc of the Capital Area at community events, conferences, and meetings to articulate our mission and advocate for the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Data Collection and Analysis: Assist in collecting and analyzing data related to outreach efforts, allowing for continuous improvement and targeted community engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in or recently completed a degree program.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Proficient in social media platforms and digital communication tools.
