Art & Education Intern

Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and creative Art and Education Intern to join our team and contribute to our mission of fostering inclusion, self-expression, and personal growth. As an Art and Education Intern, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing engaging art-based educational initiatives that empower and inspire individuals with diverse abilities.

Responsibilities:

Art Program Development: Collaborate with the program team to design and implement art-based programs that cater to the unique needs and abilities of our participants.

Workshop Facilitation: Lead art workshops, classes, and activities that encourage self-expression, creativity, and skill development among individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Curriculum Enhancement: Contribute to the development and enhancement of art-focused educational curricula that align with the organization's mission and goals.

Individualized Support: Provide one-on-one support to participants, tailoring art and education activities to meet their specific needs and abilities.

Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including therapists, educators, and support staff, to create a cohesive and supportive environment for program participants.

Documentation and Evaluation: Assist in documenting participant progress, creating visual portfolios, and evaluating the impact of art and education programs on individual growth.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in or recently completed a degree program in art education, fine arts, special education, or a related field.
  • Passion for promoting inclusivity and empowering individuals with diverse abilities through art and education.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Creativity and ability to adapt art activities to meet the unique needs of participants.
  • Willingness to learn and collaborate in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
