Development & Engagement Intern

Development Internship

Job Type: Volunteer Intern (10-15 hours per week)

Compensation: $1000 stipend upon completion (college credit – optional)

Location: 1023 Springdale Rd, Building 2C, Austin, TX 78721

*Currently hybrid due to COVID-19 restrictions but must be based in Austin, TX

Internship Description

Latinitas is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering all girls to innovate through media and technology. We publish LatinitasMagazine.org and deliver a weekly after-school “Club Latinitas” program, summer camps, workshops, seasonal Chica Conferences and certification programs in journalism and coding for girls ages 9 - 18.

We are seeking a talented individual to intern for us and work directly with our Development and Engagement team. The Development Intern will have a unique opportunity to learn about non-profit fundraising, donor management, and donor stewardship and help engage the community.

Intern will work directly with all full-time staff for project needs and will use tools such as Google Drive, Gmail, Canva, and more. This position will require weekly check-ins with the Development team to review progress of assigned projects.

Duties Include:

  • Conduct donor and grant research.
  • Assist with new and existing strategies for fundraising campaigns.
  • Assist Development team with special fundraising events and logistics.
  • Help create monthly donor reports and assist with donor database management.
  • Provide assistance and input on several local grant applications.
  • Engage community in volunteer/donor opportunities

Intern Requirements

  • This position requires a minimum of 10 hours per week. Hours and days of work are flexible.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be enthusiastic, organized, resourceful, and creative.
  • Have an interest in nonprofit development, operations or management.

Stipend included upon completion.
