Game Day Interns

The Falmouth Commodores is one of ten Cape Cod League Baseball Teams, the preeminent summer collegiate baseball league in the United States. Scouts from all major league teams attend games and many players are ultimately drafted to play in the MLB. The Commodores are looking for summer interns to work with Fan Relations for the 2023 season. Please note that these are unpaid internship positions.  If you are an enthusiastic team player who thrives in an environment where collaboration, creativity, and teamwork are encouraged, this may be the perfect opportunity for you.

All intern positions are non-paying, and prospective interns must arrange for their own housing and transportation while on Cape Cod. The Commodores staff will assist where possible in helping interns find affordable lodging and part-time employment.

Game Day Operations - Essential Functions:

(8 Positions - unpaid internship)

  • Must be available for, and participate in, all home games throughout the regular season, playoffs – community events or fan-based events
  • Must attend at least 2 community events such as Strawberry Festival, Car show and Elementary Field days
  • Assist in greeting fans and donation collections at either back and/or front entrances if needed
  • Setup, run and break-down game day activities
  • Pick up trash after each home game around the field
  • Assist in and distribute Commodores promotional material throughout the community
  • Run game day fan related activities to enhance fan experience such as 50/50 raffle, kids games and merchandising
  • Operate Square software for credit cards
  • Work the All Star Game
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Each game day operations intern will be responsible to work in the sports shack 4-8 times during the season.  The responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following:
    • Load merchandise into shack
    • Operate Square softere/iPad/POS
    • Restock and refold items as necessary
    • Organize surplus inventory
    • Fill and ship online orders as necessary
    • Assist customers as needed
    • Check customers out using the POS
    • Nightly accounting of sales
    • Assist with special events
    • Ensure the outdoor space around the shack is clean and tidy
    • Other duties as assigned

Skills Required 

  • Preference will be given to Sports Management, Hospitality, Event Management, Marketing and majors
  • Good attention to detail
  • Responds positively to feedback, take direction well and apply learning
  • Demonstrates initiative, acts with a sense of urgency and is accountable
