AmeriCorps Tutor - Federal Way Public Schools

This is an AmeriCorps national service position. It is contingent on funding and open until filled. To serve in AmeriCorps you must be a U.S. citizenU.S. national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States. Please do not inquire if you do not meet these requirements.

The Federal Way AmeriCorps Tutors use the AVID framework to provide comprehensive academic support for students at the middle and high school level. Duties include:

  • Facilitate study groups and AVID tutorials in multiple classrooms.
  • Grade tutorial request forms.
  • Support AVID Elective Teachers with classroom activities designed to help students develop college readiness skills.
  • Support math, science, history, and English classrooms with additional tutoring.
  • Host after-school homework club or support established programming; recruit volunteers
  • Track and submit student data.

Monthly stipend: $3,047
