Associate Governmental Program Analyst

The CA. Department of Social Services' and The Family Engagement and Empowerment Division (FEED) are recruiting for an ASSOCIATE GOVERNMENTAL PROGRAM ANALYST candidate in Sacramento County and Los Angeles County.

The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federal and state program that provides reimbursements for nutritious meals and snacks to eligible children and adults who are enrolled for care at participating child care centers, day care homes, and adult day care centers. CACFP also provides reimbursements for meals served to children and youth participating in afterschool care programs, children residing in emergency shelters, an adults over the age of 60 or living with a disability and enrolled in day care facilities. CACFP contributes to the wellness, healthy growth, and development of young children and adults in the United States.

 

Job Description and Duties

The Family Engagement and Empowerment Division (FEED) California Department of Social Services are looking for a Associate Governmental Program Analyst who can perform the more complex difficult, and sensitive administrative reviews (ARs) of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) which are mandated federally by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.


The AGPA are Subject Matter Experts, particularly with financial evaluation of the ARs. They will complete all areas of the ARs within child care centers, adult day care centers, emergency shelters, at-risk child care centers and day care home reviews to ensure state requirements and federal regulations are met. In addition, they will complete highly sensitive assignments which involve follow-up, complaints, problematic and seriously deficient reviews.


The AGPA will organize, plan and complete the ARs within the established timeframes. They will train, educate and provide technical assistance to CACFP operators and stakeholders related to areas of the AR including at a minimum - meal counting, eligibility, recordkeeping, financial management to CACFP operators and stakeholders.


This position requires at least 50 percent travel. Travel is expected within the local area region and throughout California.
