Data Graduate Assistant

Texas Career Engagement is seeking a graduate assistant of data reporting for the Strategic Outcomes team.

 

$20 an hour for up to 10 hours per week

 

 

Job Description 

Data Reporting Research Assistant will work with the Director of Strategic Outcomes at Texas Career Engagement to report data from career outcomes throughout UT.  Through data collection and reporting, this position will help Texas Career Engagement tell the story of career engagement and the UT student through the lifetime of their college experience. The person in this position will be part of the Strategic Outcomes team and work in an office (when possible) and remotely.  This position is currently slated for the academic year 2024-2025, including the Summer and academic year 2024-2025 

 

Goals for this position

 

  1. Create data reporting tools, such as visualization and summary reports, to inform TCE and its stakeholders about various career outcomes.
  2. Develop and maintain a visualization inventory that will be used as a resource to report campus-wide career outcomes. 
  3. Clean, organize, and manage data through TCE platforms such as Handshake, Coursera, 12twenty, and Qualtrics. 

 

Qualifications: 

Graduate student at any level in education, communication, social sciences, business, or a related field, ideally with 1-2 years left in their degree and an interest in data visualization, social science research, and career development. Candidate has experience working with large data sets and business intelligence software such as Tableau or Power BI. Must be enrolled in at least nine credit hours and have good academic standing.

  2. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  3. Excellent research skills
  4. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and organize information in a way that can be reported to university leadership. 
  5. Ability to work in a startup environment where deadlines and projects evolve

 

Preferred Skills

  1. Knowledge of coding languages (R, SQL, Python)
  2. Knowledge of additional statistical software platforms such as R, SQL, SPSS
  3. Knowledge of implementing AI into data projects
  4. Demonstrated resourceful problem-solving skills
