Student Associate (open to work study and non-work study)
Overview
The Strauss-Clements Intelligence Studies Project (ISP) at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a student associate (undergraduate or graduate) to support ISP programming. The position is for the Fall 2024 term with the potential to extend for the Spring 2025 term. This is a part-time position with varying hours each week up to 10 hrs/week. The position will be located at Sid Richardson Hall, Unit 3 with limited potential for hybrid work.
Responsibilities
- Support and coordinate events, with occasional events in the evening hours.
- Assist with advertising events and programs to the UT community.
- Support ISP team with administrative tasks.
- Maintain email subscription lists via Mailchimp.
- Create social media content (Facebook, X, Instagram, and YouTube) and monitor social media channels.
- Update ISP website with news and event information using WordPress.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate would have strong written and verbal communication skills, be organized and detail oriented, and demonstrate professionalism.
- The position involves occasional interactions with former and current senior national security officials. Although not required, ISP prefers a candidate who has a demonstrated interest in intelligence and/or national security.
- Experience using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with Canva.
- Experience with creating content for Facebook, X, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.

Compensation
Compensation will be determined by your qualifications and will range between $15 and $17/hour.
