Electrical Engineering Summer 2024 Internship - (21010)

Reporting to the Electrical Controls & Structural Engineering Manager, you will be mentored to apply your knowledge in Electrical Engineering and Instrument & Control disciplines based on your skills and your career goals. Typical EE/ I&C applications include work involving electronics, instruments, control systems, embedded software, and computer networks. Also, electrical engineering support is provided to the research and development instruments (electron microscopes, focused ion beams) to support the fuels and materials programs at MFC. 

Responsibilities may include:

  • Define requirements and develop design concepts.
  • Complete and document detailed design
  • Develop engineering documents such as drawings, specifications, and calculations to support work assignments.
  • Provide engineering support during equipment installation.
  • Perform system and component testing and surveillance.
  • Perform data collection and analysis.
  • Troubleshoot equipment.
  • Maintain configuration of assigned facilities and systems.

This team works a 4x10 schedule and works onsite at the Materials and Fuels Complex near Idaho Falls, Idaho.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate student enrolled full time at an accredited college/university studying Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum overall 3.0 GPA
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT)

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Undergraduate Internships ($25.65/hour - $30.70/hour)
  • Masters Internships and PhD Internships Pre-Candidacy ($31.75/hour - $34.06/hour)
  • PhD Internships Post-Candidacy ($33.75/hour - $36.06/hour)
  • Eligible interns are provided paid holiday time off, and many of our internships offer travel reimbursements.
  • Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on degree field and level of education.
