ULN Interns will learn about the different testing and research that the Fitness Institute of Texas offers as well as how to explain assessments, programs, and opportunities to the students and the general public. Under the guidance of their direct supervisor, ULN interns will gain training and knowledge to administer body composition testing using a Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) scan, as well as assist with any other testing offered by the Fitness Institute. Additional opportunities include teaching exercise classes, developing health program initiatives, and learning how their major can affect the public are some of the other potential opportunities that can occur during this internship. In addition, important business aspects will be developed, such as professionalism in face to face and phone conversations, scheduling appointments, and marketing/recruiting.

This internship is ideal for students interested in health and fitness (personal training, strength and conditioning), physical therapy school, medical school, etc. From this environment, students will learn multiple ways their major can be applied in the real world.
