Full job description and application link available on the Sanger job page:  https://undergradcollege.utexas.edu/slc/hiring

We look forward to reviewing your application!

Peer Academic Coaches take private appointments with any student interested in guidance on how to plan and study effectively for UT courses. They must respect differences in individual learners and academic backgrounds, plus have effective listening and collaboration skills. Coaching occurs in two formats: a) a long version in which coaches work with the same students weekly for the semester and b) a short version in which coaches post one-hour appointments on single topics to be claimed by interested students. Common appointment topics include preparing for tests, test-taking strategies, planning and time management, improving concentration, adapting to online courses, reading and note-taking efficiency, and motivation/procrastination. Professional learning specialists provide coach training on metacognitive learning techniques.

A Peer Academic Coach virtual information session will be held on Tuesday, March 26, at 7 pm at this link. Interested applicants are welcome to attend to learn more and ask questions.

  • Hours/Salary: 5-10 flexible weekly hours, based on demand.
  • Starting rate: $14/hour.
  • Requirements: The candidate must be available in person from 5-6 p.m. on Thursdays for weekly meetings and attend pre-service training on August 22 & 23, 2024. The candidate must also have been at UT for at least two semesters, plan to enroll full-time and be interested in working for both the fall and spring semesters.
  • Deadline: The application closes at 11:59 p.m. on March 31st. Applicants will be reviewed regularly, so early submission is encouraged to ensure invitation to a group interview. ALL APPLICANTS WILL BE CONTACTED NO LATER THAN THE LAST DAY OF CLASSES.
