Summer Intern - Quantitative Front Office Strategist, Fixed Income

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Intern with rigorous decision making skills backed by a strong technical background to join our desk as Front Office Fixed Income Strat Intern. We are primarily focused on candidates with strong Computer Programming or Statistics skills.

You will be expected to support the full life-cycle of the trading business, from conducting research and backtests, to building out infrastructure to support trading activities.  The role will be under the supervision of an existing Portfolio Manager in the fund.

Responsibilities:

  • Seeking candidates in their 3rd or 4th year of undergrad OR post-grad students
  • Assit research of new trading ideas
  • Support the development of trading infrastructures
  • Support any other ad-hoc tasks as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD degree in a quantitative subject - preferably a focus in Computer Programming or Statistics
  • Computer science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Good understanding of probability distributions and statistics
  • Python development experience, including Jupyter Notebooks, Numpy, Pandas
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience establishing scalable architectures/ building lightweight GUIs using Python/ Javascript would be advantageous
