Materials Engineering Intern (2024-37801) - Santa Clara

ST is excited to welcome an Materials Engineering Intern at our office located in Santa Clara, CA.

Internship Duration: 3-6 months, depending on intern's availability and location.

Responsibilities:

  • Internship will be focused on the characterization of quantum dot films using a range of internal and external characterization technique such as TRPL, PL, ellipsometry, Uv-Vis, TEM, XPS etc.
  • Perform accelerated test to correlates materials property and electrical data for device reliability and longevity.
  • Intern will manage and execute experiments using in-house characterization and device testing platforms to determine the root-cause failure modes.
  • Document experimental data, prepare technical reports, and present results at weekly group meetings.

Candidate Profile:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. in chemistry, materials science, physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related discipline
  • Strong hands-on lab skills
  • Experience setting up, running, and analyzing hands-on tests and characterization.
  • Perform sample prep for material analysis.
  • Knowledge of advanced materials characterization techniques such as photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL, TRPL), ellipsometry, Resistivity, Uv-Vis, TEM, XPS, XRD, etc
  • Experience with software such as JMP, MATLAB, Python, and/or other common programming languages is preferred
  • Detail oriented personality with solid documentation, reporting and presentation skills.
  • Must demonstrate flexibility, self-direction, and self-discipline to plan and accomplish objectives and meet deadlines with limited supervision

At STMicroelectronics, base salary is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The base hourly rate range for this role is between $32 and $43 USD.
