Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) Research Assistant
We are currently seeking to hire one part-time (up to 5 hours/week) Research Assistant (RA) to work on a project for 1 year. The Digital Heart Health Lab is looking for students to help with Spanish version of a digital game intervention for heart failure. The primary goal of this study is to culturally adapt our digital intervention for improving heart self-care behaviors among Spanish-speaking Hispanic adults with heart failure.
Salary: Junior standing - $17/hour, Senior Standing - $20/hour.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Recruit Spanish-speaking participants
- Conduct informed consent and research study visits in Spanish
- Assist participants with completing pre- and post- intervention surveys
- Conduct qualitative interviews
- Assist with qualitative analysis
- Technical support related to setting up digital health interventions
- Train participants to use digital interventions
- Enter all required study data on an ongoing basis.
- Report weekly updates to study coordinator and larger study team.
Required Qualifications:
- Reliable transportation to Austin and neighboring areas (mileage reimbursed)
- Bilingual fluent in English and Spanish, verbal and writing
- Inter-personal communication skills
- Has or Willing to obtain human subjects protection certificate
- Professionalism
- Organization and attention to detail in following procedures
- Timely communication
Preferred Qualifications:
- Major in any health-related fields (e.g., nursing, nutrition, psychology, sociology, social work, pharmacology, public health, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Team player
- Flexible to work some weekend hours
