BCG Platinion Cybersecurity Intern - Summer 2024

At BCG Platinion, our Cybersecurity team is the proactive stronghold for the next generation of business success and longevity. They protect organizations’ most valuable digital, intellectual, and human assets against malicious attacks and fatal errors. We are looking for a consultant who can address our clients’ strategic, organizational, managerial, and operational issues using the most advanced cybersecurity techniques, tools, and methodologies. 

Cybersecurity Interns at BCG Platinion are:

You’re Good At:

  • Conducting cybersecurity assessments including gap analysis and roadmap development
  • Developing cybersecurity strategies, policies, processes, and procedures to protect clients’ internal infrastructure and their customers
  • Developing cybersecurity business strategies for technology product vendors that are integrated in the organizations overall business strategy and increase revenue and profits
  • Working with leadership teams, including facilitating board and senior management cybersecurity awareness workshops
  • Implementing secure development lifecycle in a variety of contexts
  • Quantifying progress through cybersecurity measurements and risk quantifications
  • Creating table top exercises
  • Creating business continuity and disaster recovery plans

You’ll Bring:

  • Enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in cybersecurity, information security, computer science, or a related field​
  • Strong academic record with a focus on relevant coursework in cybersecurity or information security; graduating between December 2024 and June 2025​
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical information to non-technical, executive audiences​
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to assess and contextualize security risks​
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take initiative when needed​
  • Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and experience in developing risk mitigation strategies that balance security with business objectives​
  • Strong overall business acumen and understanding of business operations (e.g., finance, supply chain, marketing) to provide strategic cybersecurity recommendations that align with overall business goals​
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, principles, and best practices; knowledge of common cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques​
    • Proven ability to embed cybersecurity best practices into the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and digital transformation initiatives to minimize risks and enhance overall resilience
    • Ability to design and execute comprehensive cybersecurity strategies tailored to clients' needs, including security roadmaps and maturity assessments
    • Knowledge of cutting-edge cybersecurity tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, antivirus, endpoint security), as well as an ability to recommend and implement appropriate solutions
    • Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, NIST, ISO 27001) and experience helping clients navigate compliance requirements
  • Eagerness to learn and stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends and developments​
  • Previous internship or project experience related to cybersecurity consulting is a plus​

- Note this program is evaluative and interns have the opportunity to receive full-time offers. Our internship program operates in an 'office hub' model. If you receive a full time offer, you can request a different office location outside of these summer hubs; the expected offices for a Cybersecurity Full Time offer include Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, New York City, and San Diego.

The first year base compensation for this role is between $110,000 - $120,000 USD.
