Summer Associate, Health - Communications

The Rockefeller Foundation is seeking a Summer Associate for our Health Initiative.

Program Details
  • This position is open to graduate students only.
  • A cover letter is required.
  • The 2023 summer program will run 11 weeks from June – August 2023.
  • This position will be based in New York City or Washington D.C. with either a hybrid or fully remote schedule. Students engaged in fully remote work must be based in the United States. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with the RF Health Initiative and the Communications Policy, and Advocacy team to conduct research to inform the development of a comprehensive influence strategy on climate and health, including a landscape analysis and stakeholder mapping exercise to identify key audiences in priority geographies.
  • Work with the RF Health Initiative and the Communications, Policy, and Advocacy team to drive the execution of a thought leadership panel discussion, including the development of the run of the show, speaker identification and management, content, social media amplification plan, and communications assets. 
  • Work with the RF Health Initiative and the Communications, Policy, and Advocacy team to support communications launches as they arise, including the development of media briefing books, social media copy, and stakeholder engagement. 
 
Education, Experience, and Skills
  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program in one of the following areas: global health, climate, communications, public relations, business, public policy, government, international development, or a related field.
  • Key skills include writing, communications, strategy development, research, and social media for social good.
  • Strong writing and communication skills and ability to research new, potentially unfamiliar topics with limited guidance.
  • Collaborative, innovative, eager to learn, and interested in how foundations create and implement strategies working alongside partners.
  • Must be a proactive self-starter.
  • Committed to the mission of the Foundation.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
