Pay Rate: $15 - $16 per hour. Final compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.

What You'll Do:
  • Protect the health, safety, and welfare of all persons in the pool area.
  • Know and facilitate the pool schedule (i.e. put in or remove lane markers).
  • Render first aid as needed and complete an incident/accident report form for every injury/altercation on the premises.
  • Complete basic pool maintenance duties including, but not limited to taking and recording water tests at regular intervals, adjusting chemicals.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the area; remove items that need attention and report all needed repairs to your supervisor.
  • Greet all members and participants and record attendance.
  • Promote the YMCA character values, mission, wellness philosophy, and role in the community.
  • Lead by example the Y’s mission, vision, and values with program participants, members, staff, and guests.
  • Become an Ambassador of the Y’s work and culture by being the ultimate storyteller of who we are as an organization and brand.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.  

What We're Looking For: 

Education and Experience: 
  • Minimum of 16 years of age. 
  • Current YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, including CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen. If you don't have an active Lifeguard Certification, the Y will certify you.
  • Experience in competitive swimming or being part of a swim team is a plus.
