Summer SOC Student Assistant (open to work study and non-work study)

Serve as a point of contact for questions and information for student organizations at The University of Texas at Austin. Facilitate the daily operations of the Student Organization Center, including clerical duties, creating operating procedures, and providing customer service to the Longhorn community. Supports the operations of the Office of the Dean of Students by completing clerical and administrative responsibilities. The position is in-person.

Responsibilities:
·      Provide courteous and efficient customer service in person, on the telephone and in teleconference calls.
·      Answer incoming calls and redirect calls to the appropriate department or staff person
·      Complete clerical duties such as filing, scanning, data entry and database maintenance, preparing documents, photocopying and other related tasks.
·      Assist with student organization registration processes
·      Support student organizations in the achievement of their organizational goals
·      Perform other related duties as required
 
Requirements: 
·      Current enrollment at The University of Texas with a 2.5 GPA
·      Experience participating in a student organization, preferably in university
·      Display excellent interpersonal and both written and verbal communication skills
·      Ability to prioritize, problem solve and time manage
·      Ability to work on a team
·      Punctual, reliable, and detail-orientated
·      Exhibit a professional demeanor including attire
·      Authorization to work in the United States of America
 
Preferred Qualifications:
·      Experience in an office environment
·      Knowledge of university resources
·      Customer service experience
·      Leadership experience in a student organization

Terms of Employment:
·      Approximately 12 hours per week
·      Hours to be scheduled 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday
·      Length of appointment: May through early August with potential to continue in the fall semester
