Work Study: Student Assistant, Visitor Services

Job Description:
Join the Harry Ransom Center’s Visitor Services team. This position entails greeting and orienting visitors to the Harry Ransom Center; accepting donations; promoting memberships, merchandise and publications; soliciting feedback from visitors regarding their experience and relaying that information to Ransom Center staff. The role also involves some assistance with public engagement and office work in the Education department. Other duties as assigned. 10 hours per week, pay determined by work-study award.
 
Qualifications:
Must have a federal work-study award to apply for this position.
Must be able to work a variable schedule during open gallery hours between 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday and for occasional evening events.
Must be available to work one weekend day every weekend.
Friendly individual with strong communication and customer service skills who is resourceful, detail-oriented, a good listener, comfortable interacting with the public, and has an interest in the humanities.

This is a Fall 2023 position.
