Texas Law Student Affairs Student Associate (open to work study and non-work study)

The Student Affairs Office at Texas Law is seeking out a motivated, enthusiastic, and detail oriented undergraduate student to work a flexible schedule while gaining exposure to the environment and law student experience at the UT School of Law. This position will gain personal insight into both the academic and extracurricular experience of a law student at Texas Law while supporting daily functions of the Student Affairs office and team as a whole.

The Texas Law Student Affairs Office student associate will provide consistent and quality front desk and customer service operations as well as perform a variety of day-to-day support tasks related to office and event management. Duties and tasks will vary by seasons including exam periods, graduation, orientation, and signature office events. A Texas Law Student Affairs student associate should expect daily tasks that may include assisting with events such as organizing space and catering layout, office tasks such as cataloging and digitizing student records, helping keep inventory of supplies, and engaging with visitors to the office to provide information and assistance. These tasks are not an exhaustive list as the Student Affairs Office is responsible for a wide array of student support services, and every day is different. The office is a highly collaborative space and values strong team dynamics in accomplishing our mission at the law school.

Expectations:
This position is for between 10-15 hours a week, preferably with availability during normal business hours (9:00am-5:00pm) and some occasional hours outside of business hours including evenings and weekends. Work will be completed almost entirely at the Law School with some work done on campus at other locations as needed (for example, graduation at Gregory gym). The position is intended to start as soon as possible with work in Spring, Summer, and Fall Semesters on a routine basis.

Career Competencies Gained:
• Communicate in a clear and organized manner so that others can effectively understand
• Make decisions and solve problems using sound, inclusive reasoning and judgment
• Act equitably with integrity and accountability to self, others, and the organization
