Accounting Services Intern (Business and Financial Services)

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program 
  
The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program empowers students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage and housing assistance.  Undergraduate students only are eligible to apply. The internship runs from May 30, 2023 to August 4, 2023. The application is due by February 12, 2023 at 11:59pm. 
  
Although internships range in subject matter and skill set, each position is designed to prepare all students for life after graduation. An additional component to the internship experience will be a ten-week workshop series to develop students’ career readiness. The weekly workshop will require in-person attendance on campus.

The Office 
Business and Financial Services is a shared business services organization, which provides accounting, financial reporting, procurement, and warehousing services to the Financial and Administrative Services portfolio. 
 
The Position 
  • Process payment, contract encumbrance, and correction vouchers in UT's accounting system.
  • Create reconciliation workbooks for construction project accounts.
  • Perform transaction research, communication, and resolution tasks.
  • Create ad hoc reports 
  • Work with team to improve onboarding and early training program

Who You Are (Qualifications) 
  • Proficiency in office and administrative applications such as MS Office/MS 365.
  • Enjoy and are comfortable working in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Effectively communicate with varied recipients both via email and in person or in virtual meetings.
  • Enjoy learning and improving processes.
