Billing Team Intern (Business and Financial Services Accounting)

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program 
  
The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program empowers students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage and housing assistance.  Undergraduate students only are eligible to apply. The internship runs from May 30, 2023 to August 4, 2023. The application is due by February 12, 2023 at 11:59pm. 
  
Although internships range in subject matter and skill set, each position is designed to prepare all students for life after graduation. An additional component to the internship experience will be a ten-week workshop series to develop students’ career readiness. The weekly workshop will require in-person attendance on campus.

The Office 
Business and Financial Services is the provider of shared business services to the Financial and Administrative Services portfolio. 
 
The Position 
  • Review and validate source documents for Internal Departmental Transfer (IDT) transactions.
  • Assist in distribution of invoices to non-UT organizations, ensuring supplemental documentation is included, where applicable.
  • Update customer department receivable ledgers are updated upon receipt of payment from non-UT Organizations
  • Upload invoices and other financial documents to BFS Tracker for processing.
  • BFS Tracker is a customer web-interfaced repository and document tracking system. 
  • Generate reconciliation and document status reports.

Who You Are (Qualifications) 
  • Experience with administrative software, MS Office/MS 365
  • Interest in financial and accounting systems
  • Attention to detail
  • Comfortable working as part of a team as well as individually
  • Able to manage time and communicate effectively.
