Archives Intern (New Student Services)

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program 
  
The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program empowers students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage and housing assistance.  Undergraduate students only are eligible to apply. The internship runs from May 30, 2023 to August 4, 2023. The application is due by February 12, 2023 at 11:59pm. 
  
Although internships range in subject matter and skill set, each position is designed to prepare all students for life after graduation. An additional component to the internship experience will be a ten-week workshop series to develop students’ career readiness. The weekly workshop will require in-person attendance on campus.

The Office 
New Student Services welcomes new longhorns with New Student Orientation and Longhorn Welcome! We support students who identify as first generation with our Living Learning Community in Jester Residence Hall. We support students who are foster care alumni or have experienced homelessness with our Horns Helping Horns Program. We meet one on one with students who are on the spectrum and identify as autistic or neurodiverse with our Longhorn TIES Program. We connect with all students with our Off Campus Initiative and aUsTinite Program! Lastly, we have folks who tie it all together who focus on IT, communications, office operations, scheduling and assessment! 
 
The Position  
  • Implement a database to document past student workers and capture their EIDs for future outreach
  • Work with NSS Communications Team on showcasing archive materials and posting on the OA Alum LinkedIn page
  • Outreach to past OA UT Austin Alum to join LinkedIn
  • Build a Network of OA Alum that we can ask to serve on OA Alum Panels
  • Work with Development to enter EIDs into VIP System
  • Work with UT Archive Library to document and donate orientation archives from decades past.

  • Must be able to work on campus
