Communications Intern (Procurement and Payment Services)

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program 
  
The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program empowers students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage and housing assistance. Undergraduate students only are eligible to apply. The internship runs from May 30, 2023 to August 4, 2023. The application is due by February 12, 2023 at 11:59pm. 
  
Although internships range in subject matter and skill set, each position is designed to prepare all students for life after graduation. An additional component to the internship experience will be a ten-week workshop series to develop students’ career readiness. The weekly workshop will require in-person attendance on campus.

The Office 
Procurement and Payment Services (PPS) provides training, ongoing support and development to colleges, schools, units and researchers to strategically address sourcing, contracting, revenue generating opportunities and payment needs, while safeguarding for the highest-level of qualified and diverse supplier performance.  
 
The Position 
• Content Management: Assist in the review, editing, and updating of Procurement and Payment Services web content.
• On-the-Job-Training: Participate in training courses in the Drupal Content Management System, Writing for the Web, and Design Best Practices. Participate in other professional development as assigned.
• Content Audit and Analysis: Assist in the review, analysis and planning for future content and assist in the necessary analysis to assist mapping out changes to existing content based on current processes, procedures and policies. Analyze existing and future policies to help determine necessary changes to existing help content, training materials, resources and other digital content to ensure resources for employees is consistent with policy guidance.
• Content Development: Work closely with team members within PPS to generate news articles, presentations, and other internal communications content to ensure employees are up to speed on the upcoming changes to policies, processes, and procedures.
• Data Analysis: Participate in the analysis of web-related analytics such as Google Analytics to help determine the needs of users and assist PPS in making continuous improvements to web and digital content to better serve users.
• Graphic Design: Assist PPS team members in crafting PowerPoint presentations, reports, and other documents using the Microsoft Office suite of materials
• Participate in Procurement and Payment Services events and meetings
• Participate in other communications related activities as assigned. 
• May be assigned some administrative tasks
PPS staff remains remote this position is considered Hybrid, which means that individuals in this position may work both at an approved offsite location and onsite at a primary location based on business needs.
