Cloud Storage Support Intern (Technology Resources)

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program 
  
The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program empowers students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage and housing assistance.  Undergraduate students only are eligible to apply. The internship runs from May 30, 2023 to August 4, 2023. The application is due by February 12, 2023 at 11:59pm. 
  
Although internships range in subject matter and skill set, each position is designed to prepare all students for life after graduation. An additional component to the internship experience will be a ten-week workshop series to develop students’ career readiness. The weekly workshop will require in-person attendance on campus.

The Office 
Technology Resources (TRecs), part of the Financial and Administrative Services portfolio, provides clients with information technology that enables the units to better serve the campus. Our objective is to provide secure, reliable, and responsive IT systems, solutions, and support. During 2023, TRecs will be leading an Enterprise Data Modernization (EDM) project. The project team will work with FAS units to move content from a locally hosted file share to Microsoft OneDrive or other enterprise data storage solutions that meet business and technical requirements. Through the project, we aim to encourage clients to embrace and utilize modern cloud-based data storage.
 
The Position 
The Cloud Storage Support Intern will be a member of the EDM project team. With guidance from the project team they will:
• Work with client staff who are migrating data from a file share to Microsoft SharePoint OneDrive or other cloud-based storage solutions.
• Meet with users and guide them through the migration steps. Demonstrate initiative to follow up and escalate issues for resolution as needed.
• Provide customer support and troubleshoot migration issues.
• Attend and contribute to project team meetings.
• Provide input to coordinate and track migration status and determine next steps.
• Help maintain and update project and support documentation.
• Other related duties as assigned.
• Most meetings will be virtual using Microsoft Teams or Zoom.

• Organized and detail-oriented.
• Good listener with a problem-solving mindset.
• Ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills. This is an opportunity to build customer service skills and project coordination experience in an IT environment.
• Prior experience with Microsoft Office 365 Suite, especially OneDrive and SharePoint, or other cloud-based data storage solutions.
