Gregory Gym Program Intern (Recreational Sports)

 
The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program 
  
The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program empowers students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage and housing assistance. Undergraduate students only are eligible to apply. The internship runs from May 30, 2023 to August 4, 2023. The application is due by February 12, 2023 at 11:59pm. 
  
Although internships range in subject matter and skill set, each position is designed to prepare all students for life after graduation. An additional component to the internship experience will be a ten-week workshop series to develop students’ career readiness. The weekly workshop will require in-person attendance on campus.

The Office 
Recreational Sports is a department within Student Affairs where we believe in education through recreation. 
 
The Position 
• Serve as a liaison between Gregory Gym part-time staff and Gregory Gym full-time staff. 
• Assist and lead any and all facility trainings and team meetings; coordinate make-up meetings for absent staff. 
• Create and amend documents for Recreational Sports. 
• Monitor bi-weekly payroll for Satellites staff. 
• Report any staff morale issues to full-time staff. 
• Assist Gregory Gym full-time staff in creating and managing semester schedule for Gregory Gym staff. 
• Serve as lead mentor and staff developer. 
• Consult and amend facility policies with Gregory Gym full-time staff. 
• Manage inventory of supplies and equipment. 
• Complete any other individualized or group tasks assigned by Gregory Gym full-time staff. 
• Send staff communications through Gregory Gym program assistant account. 
• Other duties as assigned by Gregory Gym full-time staff.

Who You Are (Qualifications)  
• Serve as a Recreational Sports Facility Operations employee that exhibits the qualities that the full-time staff deem appropriate, such as trust, hard work, and personal motivation to succeed. 
• Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving and writing abilities. 
• Ability to handle multiple projects and manage time wisely. 
• Have basic understanding in Recreational Sports facility management software. 
• Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
