Intramural Sports Management Intern (Recreational Sports)

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program 
  
The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program empowers students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage and housing assistance.  Undergraduate students only are eligible to apply. The internship runs from May 30, 2023 to August 4, 2023. The application is due by February 12, 2023 at 11:59pm. 
  
Although internships range in subject matter and skill set, each position is designed to prepare all students for life after graduation. An additional component to the internship experience will be a ten-week workshop series to develop students’ career readiness. The weekly workshop will require in-person attendance on campus.

The Office 
The Intramural Sports program provides competitive and recreational sports leagues, tournaments, and special events for all students, regardless of skill level. These activities foster leadership, sportsmanship, and education. 

The Position 
  • Manage Summer Intramural Sports Program including registration, scheduling for teams and referees, payroll reconciliation, and participant communication.
  • Inventory and order sports equipment and supplies for the Fall 23 term.
  • Assist with annual program report, data analysis, and assessment.
  • Assist with transition of all playing rules and policies to Wikis.
  • The intern will learn to use Filemaker Pro, Workday, When To Work, UT Box, Google Drive, Wikis, and RecSports web based Internal Services.
  • Manage Hooked on RecSports summer orientation sessions (2 hours per week during orientation sessions).

Who You Are (Qualifications) 
  • Interested in sports.
  • General computer knowledge and willingness to learn new systems.
  • Comfortable with customer service and communication with participants via phone, text, email and in person.
  • Opportunity for intern to continue as student employee during 2023-2024 academic year.
