Compliance Analyst Intern (Procurement and Payment Services)

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program 
  
The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program empowers students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage and housing assistance. Undergraduate students only are eligible to apply. The internship runs from May 30, 2023 to August 4, 2023. The application is due by February 12, 2023 at 11:59pm. 
  
Although internships range in subject matter and skill set, each position is designed to prepare all students for life after graduation. An additional component to the internship experience will be a ten-week workshop series to develop students’ career readiness. The weekly workshop will require in-person attendance on campus.

The Office 
The University of Texas at Austin maintains the commitment to increasing the number of contracts awarded to small businesses, and those owned by women, service disabled veterans, and minorities, by creating a fair and open competitive market and improving community awareness through its Historically Underutilized Business/Small Business (HUB/SB) Program Office. The HUB/SB Program Office mission is to develop and mentor HUB suppliers to increase supplier performance, expand competition, drive innovation, and increase diverse sourcing. 
 
The Position 
  • This position is responsible for the support of contract compliance activities associated with the university’s Historically Underutilized Business and Small Business (HUB/SB) program.
  • The ideal candidate will perform an array of technical and administrative activities related to the HUB/SB program including basic data collection and validation, compilation, documentation, visualization, and report creation related to university contracts and expenditures.
  • May market program to community and professional groups to encourage and or improve interest in the program.
  • May also work with communications team with development of marketing materials.
  • PPS staff remain remote this position is considered Hybrid, which means that individuals in this position may work both at an approved offsite location and onsite at a primary location as based on business needs.

  • Familiarity reviewing invoices and payment documents, accounting, statistics.
