Program Assistant Intern (Longhorn Center for Academic Equity)

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program 
  
The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program empowers students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage and housing assistance. Undergraduate students only are eligible to apply. The internship runs from May 30, 2023 to August 4, 2023. The application is due by February 12, 2023 at 11:59pm. 
  
Although internships range in subject matter and skill set, each position is designed to prepare all students for life after graduation. An additional component to the internship experience will be a ten-week workshop series to develop students’ career readiness. The weekly workshop will require in-person attendance on campus.

The Office 
We are the Longhorn Center for Academic Equity. We house multiple programs but for this internship, we will be focusing on LILI (Latina/x Indigenous Leadership Insitute). The Latina/x and Indigenous Leadership Institute (LILI) is a student success initiative supporting the personal and professional development of Latina/x and indigenous students through culturally relevant programming that amplifies and affirms their voices.
 
The Position 
  • Developing and creating the Welcome programs for LILI & RGV Familia
  • Assistant in the curricular development of LILI & RGV Familia traditions and programming
  • Planning and executing social media strategies for LILI & RGV Familia
  • Assist and co-facilitate summer orientation workshops for LILI & RGV Familia
  • Gathering and strategizing data collection on student impact of LILI & RGV familia

Who You Are (Qualifications)
  • Skills in graphic skills, such as Canva
  • Creating and publishing content to our Instagram pages
  • Familiarity with WordPress website management is preferred but not required
  • Experience supporting the social-emotional well-being of students
  • Passion for supporting diverse populations
