aUsTinite Marketing Intern (New Student Services)

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program 
  
The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program empowers students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage and housing assistance. Undergraduate students only are eligible to apply. This internship runs from May 15, 2023 to August 4, 2023. The application is due by February 12, 2023 at 11:59pm. 
  
Although internships range in subject matter and skill set, each position is designed to prepare all students for life after graduation. An additional component to the internship experience will be a ten-week workshop series to develop students’ career readiness. The weekly workshop will require in-person attendance on campus.

The Office 
The Off-Campus Initiative is a part of New Student Services and assists UT Austin students by providing them with resources to find off campus housing, exploring Austin and understanding the resources available to them as off-campus students.
 
The Position 
• Create media content such as blog posts, social media graphics and presentations.
• Serve as a resource for students, families and community members in terms of campus involvement, city resources and information about living off campus.
• Co-present and provide a student perspective during information sessions and orientation presentations.
• Create an annual report summarizing the work of the Off-Campus Initiative for the 2022-2023 school year.
• Research and promote events, activities and resources in the Austin community.
• Work in compliance with all university, departmental, and programmatic policies, procedures and standards.
• Complete and submit all required documentation within requested timeframes.
• Maintain campus confidentiality, except when university policy and/or law mandates a report is made.
• Assist with other duties as assigned within New Student Services and the Office of the Vice President of Student Affairs.

Who You Are (Qualifications) 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience using Canva and/or other design software
• Lived off campus during the 2022-2023 academic school year or experience exploring various parts of Austin
