Esports Intern (University Unions)

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program 
  
The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program empowers students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage and housing assistance.  Undergraduate students only are eligible to apply. The internship runs from May 30, 2023 to August 4, 2023. The application is due by February 12, 2023 at 11:59pm. 
  
Although internships range in subject matter and skill set, each position is designed to prepare all students for life after graduation. An additional component to the internship experience will be a ten-week workshop series to develop students’ career readiness. The weekly workshop will require in-person attendance on campus.

The Office 
Esports Arena in the University Unions--The mission of the University Unions is to enhance the student experience and to enrich campus life by providing cultural, educational, social, and recreational programs as well as related goods and services to the campus community.
 
The Position 
The University Unions seeking an intern to assist in the development and build out of an Esports Arena space within the University Unions.
  • This would include space development, space design, determination of technology needs, identifying possible corporate sponsorship opportunities.
  • Assist in the operation of the current Esports Lounge.
  • The student intern will have an important voice and critical input into all of this as we ultimately want to meet the Esports needs of the students.
  • Participate in University Unions meetings.

Who You Are (Qualifications) 
  • Familiarity with Esports environments and insight into what would be well-received on the UT campus
  • Understanding of technology in Esports and how to implement and trouble shoot on campus
  • Familiar with potential corporate sponsorship opportunities for Esports
  • Customer service experience
