Family Orientation Intern (New Student Services)

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program 
  
The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program empowers students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage and housing assistance. Undergraduate students only are eligible to apply. This internship runs from May 15, 2023 to August 4, 2023. The application is due by February 12, 2023 at 11:59pm. 
  
Although internships range in subject matter and skill set, each position is designed to prepare all students for life after graduation. An additional component to the internship experience will be a ten-week workshop series to develop students’ career readiness. The weekly workshop will require in-person attendance on campus.

The Office 
Our mission is to lead students through their transition to the university community. We provide programs and resources that empower students to achieve academic and co-curricular success. We host New Student and Family Orientation to prepare students and their families for life on campus.
 
The Position 
Intern will assist with Family Orientation in various ways. They will help to execute the check in process, assist in preparing for the various sessions throughout the day, support additional student staff and campus partners as necessary. The intern will learn leadership skills, event planning and execution skills, and evaluation skills. Specific projects will be assigned once the intern has started and a discussion on interests/preferences is had with the supervisor. 

Position will begin mid-May to train for assisting with the Family Orientation sessions. Interns will need to be available in-person beginning mid-May Possibility for hybrid or virtual work after July 22nd.

Who You Are (Qualifications) 
Interest in working with families, participating in orientation, and working with other undergraduate students. Experience working with large skill events and in a team.
