Communications Intern (Business Strategies and Operations)

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program 
  
The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program empowers students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage and housing assistance. Undergraduate students only are eligible to apply. The internship runs from May 30, 2023 to August 4, 2023. The application is due by February 12, 2023 at 11:59pm. 
  
Although internships range in subject matter and skill set, each position is designed to prepare all students for life after graduation. An additional component to the internship experience will be a ten-week workshop series to develop students’ career readiness. The weekly workshop will require in-person attendance on campus.

The Office 
Departments under the Business Operations section of the Business Strategies and Operations portfolio are responsible for planning, constructing, and maintaining spaces at UT. This work is vital to fostering research and academic activities and contributing to the overall culture and community at UT. 
 
The Position 
Main activities will be related to digital communications, helping to assess and audit web content, writing web content, proofreading, editing. Duties may include creating visual content and writing stories for employee communications.

Occasional administrative tasks related to communications may at times be necessary, such as updating or cross-checking distribution lists.

Who You Are (Qualifications) 
This position requires excellent communications skills. Photography skills and experience with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop area plus.
