Outreach Communications Support Intern (Texas Success Initiative)

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program 
  
The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program empowers students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage and housing assistance. Undergraduate students only are eligible to apply. The internship runs from May 30, 2023 to August 4, 2023. The application is due by February 12, 2023 at 11:59pm. 
  
Although internships range in subject matter and skill set, each position is designed to prepare all students for life after graduation. An additional component to the internship experience will be a ten-week workshop series to develop students’ career readiness. The weekly workshop will require in-person attendance on campus.

The Office 
The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) is a state-legislated program designed to improve student success in college. This position will be essential to supporting students in their transition to college as well as executing administrative tasks to improve communication and data organization and analysis for the TSI office.
 
The Position 
Job Responsibilities:
• Serve as the main contact for students seeking TSI information; manage large volume of email communication with students; provide students with information regarding TSI requirements; provide students with accurate information about testing requirements and academic resources available on our campus
• Assist in planning for and advising TSI students during summer orientation
• Assist incoming students with registration for online testing.
• Serving as a role model for incoming students and answering questions about the student experience during summer orientation.
