Scholarship Intern (Office of the Dean of Students)

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program 
  
The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program empowers students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage and housing assistance.  Undergraduate students only are eligible to apply. The internship runs from May 30, 2023 to August 4, 2023. The application is due by February 12, 2023 at 11:59pm. 
  
Although internships range in subject matter and skill set, each position is designed to prepare all students for life after graduation. An additional component to the internship experience will be a ten-week workshop series to develop students’ career readiness. The weekly workshop will require in-person attendance on campus.

The Office 
The Office of the Dean of Students, comprised of eight specialized units, provides a variety of student support services along with opportunities for leadership experience, diverse student work environments, engaging programming and resources. The Communication team handles outward communication from the office, including the office website, social media accounts, print items, and press relations.
 
The Position 
  • Identify ways to improve outreach about scholarships to increase the number and quality of applications
  • Initiate ideas for outreach materials such as digiknow slides and work with design team to create them
  • Review applications and other documents for readability and user-friendly language
  • Document processes and timelines of the scholarship distribution process
  • Perform other related duties as required

Who You Are (Qualifications) 
  • Experience in a professional office environment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suites
  • Ability to show initiative, function independently, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to problem solve
