Programming and Marketing Intern (Diversity & Talent Management)

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program 
  
The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program empowers students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage and housing assistance.  Undergraduate students only are eligible to apply. The internship runs from May 30, 2023 to August 4, 2023. The application is due by February 12, 2023 at 11:59pm. 
  
Although internships range in subject matter and skill set, each position is designed to prepare all students for life after graduation. An additional component to the internship experience will be a ten-week workshop series to develop students’ career readiness. The weekly workshop will require in-person attendance on campus.

The Office 
The mission of the Diversity & Talent Management (DTM) Department is to support the development of EDI (equity, diversity, and inclusion) strategies within Financial and Administrative Services (FAS) and drive people opportunities that are relevant to FAS employees. DTM collaborates with FAS teams to represent the diverse needs of the portfolio, improve internal processes and procedures, and offer accessible development opportunities. DTM also works with campus partners to support programs that contribute to the equity, diversity, and inclusion of the larger campus community.
 
The Position 
What You'll Do:
  • Programming: Provide administrative support for events and meetings that may include assisting in the brainstorming, planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating of DTM programming, such as the EDI Learning Program
  • Research, Evaluation, and Assessment: Support and assist with the research and analyses of new approaches to effect continuous improvement of EDI programming related to DTM topics, initiatives, and actions that are relevant to FAS employees and that help inform EDI strategy.
  • Marketing/Messaging: Develop and/or edit material and updates for website and/or other communication channels related to DTM programming and projects in order to identify and develop EDI partnerships and reach diverse audiences across FAS and the campus community.
  • Learning & Development: Pursue one learning or development opportunity during the internship period
