Knowledge Management Intern (Center for Teaching and Learning)

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program 
  
The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program empowers students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage and housing assistance.  Undergraduate students only are eligible to apply. The internship runs from May 30, 2023 to August 4, 2023. The application is due by February 12, 2023 at 11:59pm. 
  
Although internships range in subject matter and skill set, each position is designed to prepare all students for life after graduation. An additional component to the internship experience will be a ten-week workshop series to develop students’ career readiness. The weekly workshop will require in-person attendance on campus.

The Office 
The Center for Teaching and Learning is UT's university-wide hub for faculty and graduate instructors to explore new ideas, try out new techniques, and learn alongside their peers. The core of our mission is to partner with UT faculty, graduate-student instructors and the University's programs and leadership to create an environment focused on teaching for student learning and success.
 
The Position 
This position will support the planning, execution, and evaluation of the 43rd annual New Faculty Symposium (NFS), UT’s campus-wide orientation for all incoming faculty, through knowledge management and collection. The position includes several small one-time and recurring projects in collaboration with their supervisor and NFS planning team to contribute to this highly visible campus event.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Collate information collected from campus partners (through UT Box), upload into New Faculty Symposium Canvas course in appropriate folders, and notate received assets in project outline
  • Integration of some campus partner information into New Faculty Symposium Canvas course modules
  • Organize and reformat biweekly new faculty reports (.csv files) into invitation lists (.xls and Airtable)
  • Send biweekly (templated) invitations to new faculty via MailChimp
  • Collect and sort archival data about past New Faculty Symposium programming and participation

SECONDARY DUTIES:
  • Combine participation, completion, and directory information for Provost’s Teaching Fellows Program into one database in Airtable from multiple locations and formats in UT Box (as time allows)

Who You Are (Qualifications) 
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Fluency with collaborative databases such as Airtable or Smartsheet
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of Canvas “teacher” interface preferred
