Summer Orientation Specialist Intern (Student Activities)

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program 
  
The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program empowers students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage and housing assistance. Undergraduate students only are eligible to apply. The internship runs from May 30, 2023 to August 4, 2023. The application is due by February 12, 2023 at 11:59pm. 
  
Although internships range in subject matter and skill set, each position is designed to prepare all students for life after graduation. An additional component to the internship experience will be a ten-week workshop series to develop students’ career readiness. The weekly workshop will require in-person attendance on campus.

The Office 
Student Activities works with student organizations on campus to provide opportunities for leadership development, organization growth, and support for organization missions.
 
The Position 
Assist with preparation, communication, coordination and management of the summer orientation student organization fair
Facilitate check-in process during summer org. fairs
Document relevant information regarding the summer orientation student organization fair (attendance, absence, feedback, etc.)
Engage in customer service with freshmen students and student organizations

Who You Are (Qualifications) 
Customer service skills and/or experience
Interest or experience in project and/or event management
Interest or experience with communications and/or marketing

Desired fields of study include but are not limited to communications, public relations, human dimensions of organizations, hospitality, humanities, management and marketing.
