Marketing Intern (Forty Acres Food Alliance)

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program 
  
The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program empowers students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage and housing assistance. Undergraduate students only are eligible to apply. The internship runs from May 30, 2023 to August 4, 2023. The application is due by February 12, 2023 at 11:59pm. 
  
Although internships range in subject matter and skill set, each position is designed to prepare all students for life after graduation. An additional component to the internship experience will be a ten-week workshop series to develop students’ career readiness. The weekly workshop will require in-person attendance on campus.

The Office 
The Forty Acres Food Alliance seeks to improve the food environment for our UT Austin community. Through campus partnerships, community education and advocacy, the Forty Acres Food Alliance focuses on food equity, sustainable and nourishing food, and works to reduce food insecurity.
 
The Position 
The Forty Acres Food Alliance committee represents a variety of campus departments, students and student groups and welcomes new members throughout the year.
We are seeking a student intern to create a marketing plan/campaign that can be used year round for recruiting new members.
  • Create print and web material and social media.
  • Discover and incorporate multicultural and diverse food needs of students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors into campaign.
  • Assist in planning the 2023-24 committee schedule and focus areas.

Who You Are (Qualifications) 
  • Background (through coursework, past/current employment, or other avenues of learning) in health communications and marketing.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on starting and following up on projects. 
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills. 
  • Strong written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with campus culture and events.
