Undergraduate Research Assistant Intern (Division of Student Affairs)

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program 
The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program empowers students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage and housing assistance. Undergraduate students only are eligible to apply. The internship runs from May 30, 2023 to August 4, 2023. The application is due by February 12, 2023 at 11:59pm. 
  
Although internships range in subject matter and skill set, each position is designed to prepare all students for life after graduation. An additional component to the internship experience will be a ten-week workshop series to develop students’ career readiness. The weekly workshop will require in-person attendance on campus.

The Office 
Division of Student Affairs/VPSA; Assessment, Data Analytics & Planning Team (ADAPT)
The Assessment, Data Analytics & Planning Team (ADAPT) is dedicated to fostering an inclusive culture of data-informed decision making and continuous improvement. The team supports Division of Student Affairs stakeholders in collecting and analyzing data. These data inform and enhance our programs and services to maximize our students experience as they are living the Longhorn life. The team also provides educational opportunities so that all stakeholders are equipped to effectively gather, analyze and report data. They disseminate infographics, reports and research briefs that provide a better understanding of the Longhorn experience. 
 
The Position 
  • Participate in assessment and research projects;
  • Conduct literature reviews;
  • Engage in data collection, data input, transcription, and coding;
  • Maintain and organize assigned files;
  • Assist in writing reports and preparing professional presentations;
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings;
  • Participate in all required Division of Student Affairs Internship Program cohort activities and assessments.
  • Attend monthly all team in-person luncheons.

Who You Are (Qualifications) 
  • Have completed at least 2 years of college at a higher education institution
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work in teams
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow direction
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and follow instructions;
  • Willingness to initiate, plan, and lead research activities
  • Commitment to task completion
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality
