Interested in working at the center of California’s water rights system? Want to develop and apply expertise in adapting water rights to the needs of the 21st century? The Division of Water Rights is looking for a Water Resource Control Engineer to work on the complex challenges associated with allocation of the state’s limited water resources. The work will be performed in the context of a changing climate and an increasing need for water supply resiliency. Pragmatism, strong communication skills, and critical thinking will be essential for success in this context.
The position will apply technical analyses and engineering judgment to proposed water right changes, development of water right permits (licensing), water transfers, dedications of water to the environment, and adaptation of water rights to recharge and conjunctive use projects. The position is located at 1001 I Street, 14th Floor, Sacramento, right in the heart of downtown next to light rail stations and other public transportation.
