Lab Technician - Intern

Position Summary:
Are you excited about the upcoming energy transition to renewables? Do you want to apply what you learned in school to develop new battery technologies that are safer, cheaper, and cleaner? Hunt Energy battery team is seeking a highly motivated laboratory technician with hands-on chemistry lab experience. This candidate will be a key member of our new battery tech development and evaluation team, focused on developing innovative battery technology to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to turn into full-time Hunt employee after the contract period.
Contract period: 3-to-6-month contract with potential for full-time

Responsibilities:
·        Perform lab experiments, document processes documentation, perform data analysis and create reports associated with battery chemistry and testing.
·        Materials synthesis through deposition, solid state reaction, hydrothermal, sol-gel process.
·        Battery electrode fabrication, testing and relevant techniques including slurry preparation, coating, heating pressing.
·        Work with chemical reactions that might involve acids and inert gases.
·        Evaluate products, write reports, and perform lab maintenance and basic repairs.
·        Other responsibilities may involve battery lifetime and capacity testing, the ordering of lab supplies and test equipment, routine cleanup of chemical lab.

Requirements:
·        Background associated with chemistry, electrochemistry, or materials science
·        Hands-on experience working in chemistry labs
·        Experience in maintenance and calibration of process equipment
·        Creativity in problems solving
·        Willingness to learn quickly and work efficiently to meet goals
·        Meticulous attitude in data tracking, observation and note taking, as well as communicating with the engineers
·        Willingness to collaborate and take on challenges in unfamiliar areas

Required Experience:
·        Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, physics, or materials science
·        Minimum of two years of experiences working in a chemistry lab
