Position Specific Description
Corporate Real Estate acquires land and land rights (easements) for substation sites, transmission right-of-ways, and special projects. Protect real estate assets primarily through negotiating consent agreements which allow the landowner to use the property for a specific purpose and still protect FPL’s transmission easements. Manage real estate assets through sale of property, licensing property, releases of easement, and real estate records management. The asset Management group of CRE oversees our asset optimization and revenue function for the last couple years and it’s significant growth in revenue and in bringing new areas of revenue
Some of the responsibilities for our CRE internship are listed below:
- Participate in all facets of the budgeting and forecasting of Corporate Real Estate
- Utilize GIS applications to identify, analyze, and validate revenue opportunities
- Support dashboard development through PowerBI on business needs
- Support deep dive analyses into asset valuation strategies and Real Estate Optimization activities
- Facilitate the aggregation of data from various systems
Job Overview
To be considered for an internship, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor’s degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists department with assigned projects
- Completes challenging projects and assignments
- Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship
- Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school grad / GED
- Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program
- Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
