Amazon Robotics empowers a smarter, faster, more consistent customer experience through automation. Amazon Robotics automates fulfillment center operations using various methods of robotic technology including autonomous mobile robots, sophisticated control software, language perception, power management, computer vision, depth sensing, machine learning, object recognition, and semantic understanding of commands. Amazon Robotics has a dedicated focus on research and development to continuously explore new opportunities to extend its product lines into new areas.

This Amazon Robotics internship opportunity will either be based out of Seattle or the Greater Boston Area in our two state-of-the-art facilities in Westborough, MA and North Reading, MA. Both campuses provide a unique opportunity to have direct access to robotics testing labs and manufacturing facilities. This role is a 3 month summer internship to join AR full time (40 hours/week) from May - August 2023.

The Technical Product Management team partners closely with software and hardware engineering teams and is responsible for defining product requirements for the development of the latest technologies for Amazon Robotic Fulfillment Centers. The team is also responsible for creating strategic product roadmaps, serving as Voice of the Customer, and evaluating and prioritizing new feature requests.

The Technical Product Manager Intern will be an active member of this team by owning a critical product component, process path, or internal process improvement. This role requires excellent communication, project management, and technical skills to process information from multiple stakeholders, understand technical product features, and communicate effectively across the organization.

A successful candidate will be comfortable navigating the early phases of a products’ development, and can bring structure to ambiguity. The intern will have a strong bias for action, able to weigh multiple options and make documented, data-driven tradeoffs. Lastly, a successful candidate knows how to communicate across multiple audiences, including target customers, business partners, solution designers, and SW and HW engineers.



The Intern will be responsible for:
* Requirements generation
* Market sizing and competitive analysis
* Customer and partner communication
* Voice of Customer collection
* Technical leadership

About the team
The micro fulfillment team is a newly formed, cross-functional vertical, designing highly automated concepts that scale down to small footprints so that customers can be served at the point of need. The team operates as a start-up within Amazon Robotics, co-creating with customers and partners, building prototypes, and maturing novel technology. The micro fulfillment team provides a unique opportunity for a candidate to have highly influential impact early in a products’ lifecycle.
 

Basic Qualifications:
* Currently working towards MBA
*Actively enrolled in College/University and must have a Graduation date of December 2023 or later
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or similar discipline
* Must be eligible and available for a full-time (40h / week) internship from May - August 2023


Preferred Qualifications:
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize conflicting requirements
* Ability to multitask and prioritize critical tasks and conflicting requirements with a high attention to detail
* Experience working in a start-up or start-up environment.
