The State Water Resources Control Board’s Office of Enforcement is recruiting for a fulltime, permanent Water Resource Control Engineer in the Fraud, Waste and Abuse Prevention Unit. The position is located at 801 K Street, Suite 2300 in downtown Sacramento. 

This individual will work closely with the Unit Senior, and legal and investigative staff in the Office of Enforcement. The Water Resource Control Engineer will perform thorough investigations to determine if fraud, waste or abuse is being conducted by consultants, contractors, and/or site owners against the Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund or other State Water Board financial assistance programs. Enforcement work is complex and fast paced. This individual has to communicate effectively and remain calm in many different settings, e.g., depositions and site visits. The Water Resource Control Engineer must maintain a high degree of confidentiality, and be able to travel statewide, including day and overnight trips.
