Description:
The successful applicant will join a highly motivated conservation team dedicated toward accomplishing Ducks Unlimited’s (DU) mission. Applicant will assist a regional team to deliver wetland, riparian and associated habitat restoration within the Southwest Region, primarily in Texas, Oklahoma & New Mexico and potentially in south Louisiana, on an as needed basis. This position will be stationed in DU’s Richmond Field Office. 

The successful applicant will: (1) be responsible for survey coordination, designs, plan production, project bidding and construction oversight of various wetland projects; (2) serve as DU’s representative on construction projects; (3) coordinate restoration activities with federal, state, and private partners; and (4) represent DU with local, state, and federal personnel, private landowners, and other conservation partners. 
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college. 
  • Registered Professional Civil Engineer with the ability to obtain PE license by reciprocity in TX, OK & NM.
  • Experience with topographic and construction surveying techniques, including GPS.
  • Experience with AUTOCAD Civil 3D, hydraulic modeling and related engineering software.
  • Knowledge of heavy construction work methods, practices, materials and equipment.
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques of project administration, construction inspection and materials testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with public and private conservation partners.
  • Demonstrated oral and written interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate ATV and outboard boats.
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, willingness to work independently, willingness to travel overnight with some extended travel, ability to work in inclement weather, and ability to work with minimal supervision in remote work environments.
