Interested in joining us? We are looking for Corporate Controller based out of our Houston, TX office.
The mission: Lead the accounting and reporting within a fast-growing, purpose-driven organization with nearly 1,000 employees and offices across the United States, while leading a team of over 25 accounting professionals.
Our footprint is over 25 states, and the Corporate Controller will navigate complex relationships with several executive leaders, regional management, and independent auditors, therefore we are looking for an innate relationship builder with excellent negotiation and communication skills. You will be touching all aspects of the company - Sales & Business Development, Operations, Project Management, Legal, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Corporate Development since you will be responsible for developing processes and accounting and internal controls.
What your day-to-day might look like?
What your day-to-day might look like?
30% of your time you will be managing the accounting department. You will supervise your team comprised of Billers, General Accountants, and Project Accountants so as to ensure a timely, accurate and efficient accounting close on a monthly basis.
30% of the time, you will be streamlining the operation. You will identify and lead opportunities to automate and improve accounting operations to support the company's continued growth and scale. You will also work on internal policies and procedures to ensure proper internal controls while maximizing operational efficiency.
30% of the time, you will be dedicated to the reporting. You will make sure the company is ready for the annual audit process with external auditors (Ernst & Young), oversee the preparation of the audited financials, and resolve audit issues to ensure successful and timely completion of required audits. You will also publish the quarterly debt covenant.
10% of the time, you will support the M&A activities of the company, making sure the integration of the acquisitions into the RES structure is run smoothly.
Qualifications
We would love to talk to you if you have many of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 10+ years of work experience in accounting or financial roles
- Experience managing extended teams in matrix environments and across several geographies
- Experience in project-based industries, such as O&G, construction, energy, engineering, or consulting.
What will make you stand out?
- MBA or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Experience in a Big4
- CPA
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and percent of completion revenue recognition standards
- Experience with NetSuite
- Experience in PE-based companies
- Experience in M&A-extensive organizations
