Sr. Land Surveyor

RES
RES is looking for an Sr. Land Surveyor with 7+ years of experience in boundary and topographic surveying experience based in our office in Charlotte NC, Raleigh NC, or Charleston SC.
The Mission: Our operations teams in the Carolinas need an expert understanding of the land we work on to make sure our projects reach their full potential. To achieve this, we need an licensed surveyor with experience mapping land to ensure our projects have a positive effect.
 
RES currently works in over 27 states, with 20+ projects in each state. In our southeast division, many of these products involve the Manipulation of Freshwater Resources Such as Streams. A successful candidate is an experienced surveyor who has spent time Mapping Natural Landscapes, especially fresh water sources. The candidate should also have experience uploading the information they record in the field to an AutoCAD program, as well as the communication skills needed to explain figures and renderings to project designers and engineers.

What your day-to-day might look like?

50% of your time, you will be in the field making environmental mapping, especially on streams, wetlands, and ponds. Support for GIS grade GPS mapping will be needed
40% of your time, you will be in the office rendering/uploading maps and other information you have recorded in the field.
10% of your time, you will be supporting our planning, engineering, ecology, and construction departments

Qualifications

We would like to talk to you if you have many of the following:
  • Ability to perform field work and/or drafting for land surveying scopes of work including construction staking, boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, legal descriptions, as-built surveys, and topographic surveys for various stream, wetland & stormwater projects
  • NC PLS certificate and ability to register SC PLS in the future
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Total Station, and RTK GPS is required
 
What will make you stand out
  • Experience with GPS machine control, GIS grade GPS mapping and GPS machine control operations
  • SC PLS Certification
  • Experience managing a team of surveying staff.
